Weekends in Wonder
Stepping through the gates of time, here I am at Isa Khan’s Tomb within the Humayun’s Tomb complex in Delhi, soaking up the magnificence of this special place.
Slow stay travel triumphs yet again! Why? This was just my weekend out, enjoying the travel benefits around my usual work week, just in another country far, far away from “home”…
It’s the fact that exploration like this, just fits around your life, that work doesn’t define where you need to be living full time.
This was just one of my Saturday excursions - proper planning, no rush and an excitement during my work week knowing I would be able to enjoy this marvel on the weekend without any stress or anxiety of that dreaded holiday fear knowing you have to return to work after experiencing paradise… paradise just becomes your life! At least Friday-Monday, with the rest of the time, enjoying the view from wherever I’m working on my laptop!
I am not just a tourist; I am a guest, peeling back the layers of history and humanity that make up the vibrant tapestry of India.
Embracing extended stay travel is about carving out a niche in unfamiliar lands and finding a sense of home. It’s about swapping rushed itineraries for spontaneous explorations, discovering not just landmarks but also life as it unfurls in hidden corners and quiet afternoons.
So here’s to the long stays, the deep dives, and the journeys that don’t just cross destinations off a list, but add chapters to our lives. Whether you’re an entrepreneur like me, seeking inspiration from the world’s canvas, or a curious soul yearning for connection, remember that travel is not just where you go, but how you choose to be while you’re there.
